If there is one word that is driving current health policy it is ‘quality’. You can’t turn a page in the nursing press without being bombarded by new quality tools, quality audits, and other management ‘quality’ jargon. The Darzi review has stated that primary care services will have quality as their raison d’être. That’s an admirable aim as no one wants shoddy services, but how does one go about defining quality in district nursing services?
